For the Love of: Grass Fed
No? You don't know what I'm talking about you? You will after you try Grass Fed's burgers found in Jamaica Plain, MA (you're welcome). They will totally satisfy your need for fast food without slowly drowning your body in grease. Created by the same restaurant owners as Ten Tables, well known throughout Boston for their amazing food and attention to detail, Grass Fed employs the same beautifully made and cared for food while also offering the customer a more relaxed setting of counters and bar chairs as well as take out and delivery. Yes, if your live in Jamaica Plain they will hand delivery one of these babies to your door.
My favorite part? You can order any of the burgers "on grass" which translates to a delicious bed of fresh lettuce. Drooling yet? I'm aware it's breakfast, but I might stop and get one of an early lunch... Hope to see you there soon!

Hello from Roma!
Hey y'all! Sorry I've been so MIA lately. To attempt and repent, I'll do my best to keep you up to date on my current traveling in Italy :)
I've been here with the fam-bam for 3 days now, and I have still yet to finish a plate of pasta... I'm sure those of you who know me will be shocked. To give the rest of you an example of my pasta obsession, my high school lunch every Wednesday was pasta. Every. Wednesday. (Cue hallelujah chorus!!) And when school was out, guess who started to crave pasta midweek? Yup, me.
Anyways, I've been really struggling the past few days to finish an Italian serving of pasta! Is it maybe because I eat as much prosciutto e melone as possible beforehand? Maybe, but it sure as hell isn't for a lack of pure adoration for this country's pasta.
Even as I write this, I have a huge food baby (let's call her Melanie) from a delicious penne e salmone I attempted to devour. Results below:
Seriously?? I was so close!! Wish me luck on the rest of my eating adventures! I'll be home on the 26th and hopefully on a better posting schedule for the rest of the summer. Ciao for now!

First Fruit!
Finally, the first fruit from my garden has arrived! Isn't that just the cutest strawberry you've ever seen?
It may or may not have been the softest, juiciest, and sweetest strawberry to ever grace my lips. The best part? It's the fruit of my own labor! (Pun intended)
I'll be posting all about my garden this summer so be sure to keep checking back for new arrivals and recipes for the produce!

New Places
Scarf: American Apparel in Coral |
I just finished Miriam Sagan's Seven Places in America: A Poetic Sojourn, where she travels to different parks and spaces in the US, attempting to write poetic maps of the environments or merely explain what the spaces have meant in her life. Inspired by Sagan's journey, I will begin a Seven Places project of sorts, starting this June. I'll be making multimedia work of seven places around the world (as I'll be travelling September-December--- more on that later!), and hopefully learn a thing or two about myself as I try and articulate why parks and hills and bodies of water are important to me. Who knows... maybe I'll share a poem or two with y'all as well!

Rain Rain Go Away
It's been insanely humid up here the past few weeks! My hair and I are real mad about it. I've taken to braiding my hair every morning while trying to keep it down and interesting... Needless to say my typical 20 min get up and go morning routine has been a bit of a mess this week. The rain and clouds also haven't helped as I try to convince myself that the world isn't so bad outside of my covers.
Hope you've stayed dry this week and happy Sunday.

And Now I Have a Garden
After 5 hours of work, learning how to use a hoe, and an embarrassing trip to Home Depot, I finally have my summer vegetable garden read to go!
I planted tomatoes, arugula, broccoli, cantaloupe, cucumbers, strawberries, yellow bell peppers, basil, and one, lone jalapeño pepper plant.
I absolutely LOVE gardening. It's a great chance to test your responsibility (can you really remember to water the plants every day?) and to eat some delicious, fresh food! Seriously though, fresh strawberries are not only sooo good but too cute :)
Comment with anything you think my garden is missing or any tips on how to keep all these things alive all summer!
